It’s just a few days before graduation and Cameryn has her sky blue cap and gown in hand. My favorite grad showed up to her final senior session in a lovely yellow dress, she never disappoints. I always joke that if she ever decides to make a career change, modeling could be another path. Although we met at the same location from just a few months early, the trees had changed and the sun was nice and warm, just the perfect dreamy light that all photographers yearn for on styled shoots such as these.
As usual, we had such fun creating some youthful and energy filled shots, including one of my favorites, the jump shot…and no I am not referring to Draymond Green, lol. I am of course referring to the jumping in the air with the cap in hand, in complete joy that you’re finally graduating high-school, shot. Such a great sport, Cameryn practiced the jump over and over before I even lifted up my camera. This “spontaneous” shot is now one of my favorite images of all time.
I am already looking a few years down the line to her wedding. I can just see how beautiful she will be in her gown, maybe even marrying her high-school sweat-heart. A fairy-tale story that so many of us are envious of, but for the next few years this beauty will have her nose in a book. She will study to be the best damn nurse anyone could ever ask for. Before I know it, she will be calling me to photograph her college graduation, looking not even a day older I’m sure. It truly is amazing how fast time flies by, but in this sweet moment, all the hope, expectations and joy is held and forever embraced by not just her, but her entire family. When time flies by so quickly it’s wonderful to look back at these fun and genuine images. Congratulations to not just Cameryn, but the entire class of 2018, enjoy this time in your lives!
