How to Rock a Maternity Session….Ask Nancy!

In mid-summer, when it has been months since we have felt the rain on our skins, it is often difficult to find lush green locations to shoot especially out in the delta. Not to fear, even in the driest of the outermost parts of the greater bay area there a beautiful lush parks for gorgeous maternity sessions.

I met my client Nancy at beautiful Buchanan Park in Pittsburg on a warm Wednesday just last week for her maternity session. Between the pond, cute little bridges, palm trees and flowers, there was a plethora of locations to shoot.

Nancy at almost 9 months pregnant looked a vision, which if you’ve ever been 9 months pregnant, you know that isn’t always easy. She wore a spaghetti strap dress that accented her sweet round belly, where baby is just waiting to make his appearance. This little boy will be so loved, especially by his big sister!

This fun maternity session went from the side of the pond to the wild look of a small creek bed dry from the summer heat. The palm trees and tropical style backdrop makes it look like a Hawaiian maternity shoot….mabye someday, but for now, it was such a pleasure photographing this beauty in the suburbs of Pittsburg. Nancy made an absolutely amazing client for any photographer and I feel so lucky to be apart of another special moment in another person’s life. Even if we can’t travel too far off lands, we live in such a special place here in the bay area, that we can find hidden gems right in our backyard that make us feel like we just stepped into a tropical land, enchanted forest or desert wonderland….this little guy will have a beautiful place to grow up in!

Take a page from Nancy’s book and dress it up and rock it, pregnancy is beautiful and fleeting so capture these special moments!
